teasy

of a baby - irritable: The baby is so teasy - she must be teething.

Contributor's comments: Having lived in SA for 50 yrs and in Adelaide for the last 32, I have never heard this one at all. Just in case it was an "old" usage I asked my mother-in-law who has lived in the Riverland of SA for all of her 80 years, and she had never heard it either!

Contributor's comments: This word is very common from my home area of Yorke Peninsula, in particular, Kadina. The term was often used in the context of "John is tired and teasy", ie tired and irritable. Whenever I use the word in Adelaide or my new residence of the Adelaide Hills, no-one has ever heard of it. I think it must be a uniquely Yorke Peninsula word.
