Contributor's comments: [Sydney informant] This is not at all what I understand "jard" to mean. My three teenagers all use it as "you have been proven incorrect". And, it is always accompanied by the word "hard", as in, "So you thought mum and dad wanted you to watch TV instead of doing your homework....well, jard hard!"
Contributor's comments: 10 years ago at high school in Brisbane, we used "jard" or "jarred" to mean "fooled", usage "jard you good" or "jard in". It meant that you were naive for beliving something that the person had made up. I noticed a similar usage last week by high school students at a train station.
Contributor's comments: In Qld in the 80s to be jard was to have believed a lie - Jard you severely was often heard.
Contributor's comments: We used to use this in primary school and when someone was really jarded it would be jard-hard or jar-ard.
