Contributor's comments: With the exception of the kids in kinder and perhaps grade 1, this break was known as 'recess' on King Island.

Contributor's comments: [New England District informant] Play lunch was used in the '70's, (Catholic school), but little lunch was also used. I remember being laughed at when I went to high school and used the term little lunch instead of recess.

Contributor's comments: This term was used by my cousins in Tully North Queensland in the 60s and 70s. In Sydney we called it Play lunch.
