Contributor's comments: I was one of those who submitted this word in the belief that it was a regionalism, but I have just received "Blooming English" by Kate Burridge, and on the back cover, slubberdegullion is mentioned as one of those words which have died. I have yet to find it within the book, but it must be there. Thus, did my parents use an ancient word that became a modern one in my eyes?
