Editor's comments: This is from a brand name of a type of kitchen cleaning cloth. Do other people use it generically?
Contributor's comments: This was a word that was consistently used by my parents in 69-70 when referring to the kitchen sponge, regardless of brand purchased. I no longer use the term for general use, but it would still be understood in our house.
