Contributor's comments: I heard this expression quite frequently in the 1950's in Inverell (northern NSW).
Contributor's comments: "shoot through" is Australia wide, but I have always used "shoot throgh like a bondi (tram)" as an addition. Even though it was rarer in Melbourne, everybody got the idea.
