Contributor's comments: Despite being unique to South Australia, it's not all that well known outside the medical setting. I remember being a radiography student, and being given the task of finding out what a barouche was. I had no idea where to start!
Contributor's comments: Barouche also means the same thing in NewYork and I have heard it in NE Kentucky.
