Contributor's comments: I have recently heard AFL football umpires (who dress predominately in white) referred to as 'maggots'.

Contributor's comments: In NE Vic, the term was "You were maggot last night" However, I can see how "maggot" could turn into "Maggered" depending on the state of "maggotness"

Contributor's comments: This was definitely used a lot in SA when I grew up (and still is now); it meant the ultimate in being drunk. You couldn't be any more drunk than maggoted.
