Contributor's comments: As a Victorian this was used to refer to someone with a hair-lip.
Contributor's comments: Someone on social security who has had, or is still having, a very tough life; undereducated, possibly an illicit drug addict or former drug addict. A bit like a bogan. It's not a term of endearment: "That's a bit nuffy" (ie, a bit crass and sad); "He's a nuf." "She's a nuff-nuff."

Contributor's comments: Nuff nuff was, as others have said, used to describe a disabled person or a person who was poorly educated or not terribly bright. The phrase was also common in the Victoria Police - so much so that the operation set up to curb the large number of police shootings in Victoria in the 1990s and which led to Project Beacon was called Operation Fun Fun - Nuff Nuff in reverse - because many of the victims of said shootings were intellectually disabled. Charming stuff.
Contributor's comments: When taking notes in lectures, any reference to "a person with a developmental disability" was always shortened to nuff nuff. Very sensitive of we future healthcare providers.

Contributor's comments: This word is often used by myself and friends to refer to people we consider idiots or stupid. I have called my husband a nuff nuff when he's done something silly or been a bit slow on the uptake.
