Contributor's comments: Bus is most usually a public transport vehicle, my grandfather was the only one I ever heard consistently referring to his car as a bus - I'd say it is very rare now.
Contributor's comments: I've also heard this term being used by older Tasmanians, but it seems to me more more of an affectionate term for a reliable old vehicle, rather than just any vehicle. But I could be wrong.
Contributor's comments: On the West Coast most people still use the word bus to describe any car other than a sedan.
